I can think of a lot of reasons not to write this. The reasons swirling around me as I type boil down to a stigma that I want to lend my experience to erode.
Late last year, I began therapy in an effort to seek a better understanding of my mental health, and work to improve it.
I waited too long to seek professional guidance. Other people in my life got help really late, and for some, it never came. I’m glad that I was able to realize and admit that I need help and that help is available.
Help is available.
